Erin

Love. Her. Skirt.

Derek

So while we're on the subject of 1990s tv shows (see previous post), I thought it would be fitting to share this pic. I met this super cool, free spirited guy while out at Festival this past weekend. I totally dig his outfit, partially because his tee is emblazoned with characters my fav childhood cartoon, but mostly because of his friendly, laid back attitude! Why can't festival be every weekend?!

Sister, Sister.

I got my own mind. I do my own style in my own time. Ok, enough with the cheesy 90s tv theme song lyrics.

This past weekend Festival Internationale de Louisiane took place, and I got to spend the entire weekend with my faboosh little sista! And I must say, she knows how to pull off casual festival chic. As much as I love a flowy maxi dress when I'm out at a show, I die for her cardi/knit pencil skirt combo!

Also, although slightly obstructed by her cross-body bag, note Sarah's totes magotes awesome feather necklace. I'm pretty sure that was a Christmas gift from yours truly!

Internationale

Yes, yes. That's right. You are setting your sights on the most impeccable dreadlocks in existence. Soak it up, revel in it.

We met these two in Lafayette post-festing. (GIVERS' set was mind blowing beeTdubs) There are uber layers of incredible in this photo. Numero Uno: the stunning print of the girl's maxi dress. It's hard to find an intricately detailed maxi that hasn't been worn a bajillion times, but she has done it and done it darn well! Numero Dos: the color compliment between his handkerchief scarf and his (*ahem* can we say it again...SENSATIONAL) dreadlocks. Numero Tres: the righteous vibes emanating from them in general. Who doesn't like good old genuinely grand people? (well, besides bad young fake bland people that is)

Our lovely lady fashionista also doubles as an amazing graphic designer! Robyn Holbrook: SpikedOwls@aol.com. Her totally cah-yewt business card is enough to make you hoot!

Coachella? Oh...no, silly...Jazz Fest!

It's spring time in Nola :) and to most of us this means one MAJOR thing: Jazz Fest! Today kicks off one of THE most historic Jazz Fests known to man. With a line up that includes Simon & Garfunkel (I know right?!), George Clinton, Anita Baker, B.B. King, !DJ SOUL SISTER!, etc. it's sure to be a rockin good time down in the Crescent City.

The best thing about this Festival is the one of a kind crowd dynamic. Jazz Fest caters to an older generation...bringing out the tried and true hippies. I was lucky enough to run into two of these flower children on the morning streetcar commute! A. the woman was wearing a tambourine around her neck (amaze.) B. the man was beginning his annual Jazz Fest journal (incred.) C. their hats were KILLER. (killer.) When asked if I could snap a shot for the creme, they told me the hats were a work in progess since the early 70s. Covered in equal rights sloganed stickers, various festival pins, and an occasional fake eyeball, these chapeaus really killed it.

Vickers (other ruler of the creme) and I will be festing @ Festival Internationale this weekend....be sure to keep your eye out for more boho chic posts to come! (and maybe a tatoo or two...say that 5 times fast, double dog dare ya)

Natasha

Denim discovery!
I've been scouring the globe for THE most insane/baffling/rad/blow your mind, body and soul-esque denim oxford. Here. It. Is. Unfortunately it would not have been appropro for me to steal it from Natasha while she wasn't looking (or aware of the clothing on her back?), so the search continues. But let's all relish in this faded washed pit stop along the denim highway....

PS. Gap 3 seasons ago....wtf?

Let's Hear it For the Boy(s).

I present to you a montage of my favorite male characters that I spotted while enjoying a few drinks with friends. I love it when I find guys with their own quirky style. Who knew a bolero tie could be so cool?

Hollie G.

Last Saturday night, whilst enjoying a night on the town, I happened to spot this gal and her a.m.a.z.i.n.g. maxi dress. When I asked her where she had got it (because let's be honest, I fully intended on going to buy one for myself the very next day), she told me that she had actually designed/constructed it herself! OMG.

Here's the story: her name is Hollie Gargano, and she's a Lafayette local. Her line is called Mais La, so remember that guys, because this lady is going places!

Andrea E.

This evening I had the pleasure of bumping into an old (and mega chic) colleague of mine, Andrea! Needless to say, she looked smashing as always...but my eyes could not stray away from her incred. messenger bag. It's vintage from that sweet little shop, Gnome, on Decatur. The faded green corduroy paired with the weathered sienna leather? i die 10x over.
